2018 Beacon Award Preview
On Thursday, December 6th the Boston Bar Association will host its 9th annual Beacon Award for Diversity & Inclusion at the Cambridge Multicultural Arts Center. This is the second year in a row that the BBA has hosted this reformatted Beacon Award: complete with live music, gourmet food, an open bar and remarks from three honorees. Check out the below timeline to get a sense of what to expect and when!
Doors to the event open at the Cambridge Multicultural Arts Center at 41st Second Street. Check in with the BBA staff at the door, grab your pre-printed nametag, hang up your coat and head in to the party.
Mingle with friends and colleagues while sampling some of the passed hors d’oeuvres, or hit up one of the food stations for artisan flatbreads or a taste of the mac n cheese bar. Stop by one of the two open bars for a cocktail, beer or wine.
The award presentations begin. Make sure to grab a spot close to the stage to hear from our three honorees: Macey Russell, receiving the Voice of Change Award; Vertex Pharmaceuticals, receiving the Corporate Champion Award, and the Yes on 3: Freedom for All Coalition receiving the Empowerment Award.
The party officially kicks off, as DJ Manolo starts our live music, the Step and Repeat opens for group photos, and the silent auction bidding wars heat up. Cut loose and enjoy this event celebrating those working to promote diversity and inclusion in our community.
Silent Auction bidding closes, winners are announced.
The music stops, the lights turn on and the event comes to an end while everyone looks eagerly ahead the 2019 Beacon Award.
